Milhe & Avons, a renowned supplier of personalised bags and packaging, has published a news highlighting the benefits of sustainable packaging.

‘What if we remove guilty the use of packaging?" : this is the tagline chosen by Milhe & Avons for its latest news note, aimed at defending the company's core business as an exhibitor at the Cheese and Dairy Products Show.

Defending ‘’fair packaging"

The tagline is deliberately provocative, given the bad press packaging has experienced theses last years : ‘These days, packaging often has a negative image. It's seen as a source of pollution and over-consumption. Many people have in mind the picture of a plastic bag hanging from a tree or floating in the sea, food boxes left in parks or paper napkins flying into the air', says Milhe & Avons. Packaging bashing is also reflected in legislation. Milhe & Avons highlights the law voted in 2016 banning plastic bags thinner than 50µ, and the AGEC law, which aims to reduce the use of single-use plastic packaging from 2020.

To challenge this myth, Milhe & Avons promotes ‘fair packaging’ and has given itself the means to make this commitment: ‘we make every effort to offer our customers an eco-responsible range of packaging, whether in terms of the choice of product itself, the materials used or the place of production. We give priority to local suppliers who use green energy. For our paper/cardboard products, we seek to ensure that they are FSC-labelled to guarantee the origin of the paper. As soon as possible, we work with our suppliers on the eco-design of products (lighter materials, adapted structures, choice of finishes, etc.),’ says Milhe & Avons, which stresses that packaging is still very relevant for protecting and transporting products, but also for communicating.

Be proud!

To conclude, Milhe & Avons invites its customers to relax about using packaging. ‘Be proud to pack your exceptional products in packaging that you have selected; be proud to give your customers an eco-responsible bag to facilitate transport; be proud to create your gift boxes in rigid boxes that can be reused; be proud to see your shop's fabric bags being carried by customers as they do their shopping; be proud to have the feeling of sending a little bit of your shop through your web orders thanks to the design of your shipping box!’. Milhe & Avons is based in Marseille since 1876.
